Why This Event Matters
This International Women’s Day, QWOW is bringing women together in Toowoomba for an experience that goes beyond conversation.
Aligned with the global UN Women theme, Balance the Scales, this event is designed to create real access to industry opportunities, facilitate meaningful dialogue across sectors, and provide practical tools to drive workplace change.
QWOW is proud to deliver a regional event of impact, giving women working in the energy sector the chance to gain insight, build connections, and take action.
The Experience
✈️ Morning: Working Rig Visit (Limited to 10 Women)
This experience is proudly sponsored by Ventia.
Ten selected QWOW members will board a plane and fly to a working service rig for a rare, hands-on experience. Participants will:
Speak directly with the crew
See equipment demonstrations and gain practical insight
Ask questions about working life on site
Understand how a service rig operates
Rig visit participants must:
Be available from 7am in Toowoomba
Attend a virtual pre-event briefing (details provided separately)
Rig visit places are allocated based on responses during ticket registration, women who have never seen a rig before are highly encouraged to apply.
☕ Afternoon: Panel, Discussion & Industry Action
1:30pm – 5:00pm
The afternoon session will be held at Urban Grounds Cafe in Toowoomba and includes:
Panel Discussion
Hear from women who have worked across oil & gas and other heavy industries, exploring:
Sector similarities and differences
Cultural challenges and opportunities
Actions that lead to genuine progress
Industry Tool Launch
QWOW, in collaboration with Bespoke Safety, will officially launch the new Sex and Gender-Based Harassment Bow Tie.
This tool provides organisations with a practical framework to identify risks and build actionable plans to improve workplace safety and culture. It will be available to download before the event: Download the Tool Here
Group Discussion
Attendees will have the opportunity to share experiences, ask questions, and contribute to facilitated discussions that promote learning and collaboration.
Networking
From 4:00pm, connect with peers, industry leaders, and supporters in a relaxed networking environment.

All profits from the event will be donated to the Toowoomba Women’s Shed, supporting programs that empower women in the region.
