Joanna Groves
Hi, my name is Joanna Groves and I am the Principal Engineer at inGauge Energy, specialising in Drilling, Completions, Abandonment and Project Management. I help clients deliver projects on time, budget and to a high standard.
Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working on a variety of projects. They range from achieving first production in the early days of coal seam gas in Australia, leading teams to drill, complete, workover and remediate hundreds of wells a year, and working in multi-disciplinary teams in The Netherlands assessing global acquisitions and divestments. I’m particularly proud of my recent achievement of co-founding QWOW, a network to empower women in the energy sector by generating connections, confidence, and skills to thrive in their careers.
Key strengths that define my professional approach are calmness, composure, and courage. My specialty lies in solving problems with a diverse group of people, harnessing the experience and perspective that each person contributes to develop the best solution.

Hi, my name is Layna Smith and I am the Lead WIPA engineer at QGC. I lead a team that are successfully and safely abandoning wells.
One of my most notable achievements has been having an engaging career in CSG in both Alberta and Queensland.
In my team, I am considered the go-to for a good ear to bounce ideas and problems off because I am curious and genuinely want to help others succeed.

My name is Danielle Leray and I am an engineer and project manager in the energy sector with over 16yrs experience working, and leading, engineering teams in subsurface well design.
One of my most notable accomplishments is co-creating QWOW – a professional network for women to connect in the Oil & Gas Industry in Qld.
At the heart of my career is a passion for innovation and problem solving driven by my unwavering pursuit of diversity of opinion. My specialty lies in celebrating diverse thinking and advocating for women in careers where they are under-represented.
